Nevertheless, here it is. Listen to it if you want but nothing constructive was said and it is mostly a rehashing of the same old stuff. What seems to be missed by many people is that if you are going to debate then you should be prepared with facts and examples. Not a series of unrelated acquaintances. With that said, let's hope tomorrow we can stick to the issues of local, state, and national/international concern on Pulse Of The Taxpayer. Comments[0] |

Thu, 22 May 2008 ![]() I have decided to change the premise of this program a bit. I had originally wanted this to be an absolute open forum for anyone to talk about anything at all. The intent of the program is to contribute constructively to the community through dialogue that will help our elected officials make decisions that more accurately reflect the wishes of the people they represent. Instead, what has emerged, is a program where religion and/or theology are presented by the callers as a justification for bigotry, hatred, discrimination, name-calling, and mean spirited hurtfulness. Religion often does play a role in the civic duties and decision making of our representatives (for example, prayer in schools) and so I don’t want to totally forbid such discussions. However, I will no longer engage in religious discussions that seem to have no bearing on issues facing our governing representatives. – Larry Category: general -- posted at: 4:51 AM Comments[1] |

Today's very special broadcast and podcast consists of 22 listeners from Ocala, Florida who were each given two minutes to be on the air to answer the question, "What do you want from the next President of The United States?" The idea to do this comes from the observation that the listeners to WOCA, which is a small radio station in Ocala, Florida, seem to be concerned about issues that are not being addressed by the Presidential Candidates or even the mainstream media. Ocala is a very diverse and eclectic population and, therefore, it would appear that the opinions of these listeners represent a cross-section of the country as a whole. Thank-you to the following listeners who participated in this show:
