The radio program Pulse Of The Taxpayer will air it's final broadcast on Friday, January 30, 2009 on WOCA.  These podcasts, consequently, will also come to an end.

The podcasts for Pulse Of The Taxpayer seem to have been experiencing some kind of technical problem causing some of the dates from December of 2008 to be replaced by those from December of 2007.  Please be patient with us while we work to correct the problem.

I have decided to change the premise of this program a bit.  I had originally wanted this to be an absolute open forum for anyone to talk about anything at all.  The intent of the program is to contribute constructively to the community through dialogue that will help our elected officials make decisions that more accurately reflect the wishes of the people they represent.  Instead, what has emerged, is a program where religion and/or theology are presented by the callers as a justification for bigotry, hatred, discrimination, name-calling, and mean spirited hurtfulness. Religion often does play a role in the civic duties and decision making of our representatives (for example, prayer in schools) and so I don’t want to totally forbid such discussions.  However, I will no longer engage in religious discussions that seem to have no bearing on issues facing our governing representatives.
